Prodigal Son
and the Good Shepherd
I like Judges 19 most. You know — the one where a host takes in a Levite guest for the night. Before long, a mob of perverts begins pounding on the door, demanding to have sex with the guest.
The consummate host finds this utterly offensive, and offers his virgin daughter and the the guest’s concubine to the horde, imploring the mob to "do to them whatever you wish." The mob refuses the daughter, but accepts the concubine and they "rape and abuse her all night". After spending hours upon hours being beaten and sexually violated, she manages to crawl back to the doorstep, where the next morning the Levite finds her bruised body. After she fails to respond to his commands, he flops her limp carcass on his donkey and proceeds to ride home.
When he arrives, he hacks her corpse into twelve pieces and sends them to each of the twelve tribes of Israel.
The story ends with: "consider of it, take advice, and speak your mind."
Those who actually do ‘consider of it’ will immediately reject the idea that the bible is inspired by any god, as this is easily one of the most pointless and disgusting stories ever told in the history of humankind.

I like the bible genetics story, where Jacob placed striped branches where the sheep or goats could see them while mating. This resulted in streaked, speckled, or spotted offspring:
Genesis 30:37-39
"Jacob, however, took fresh-cut branches from poplar, almond and plane trees and made white stripes on them by peeling the bark and exposing the white inner wood of the branches. Then he placed the peeled branches in all the watering troughs, so that they would be directly in front of the flocks when they came to drink. When the flocks were in heat and came to drink, they mated in front of the branches. And they bore young that were streaked or speckled or spotted."

I like the story where Jesus tells Mary Magdalene’s accusers that, "Whomever is without sin, let him cast the first stone."
Then He says to her,"Neither do I condemn thee,go and sin no more."
He is just so cool like that.
Praise God, I love you Jesus!

David and Bathsheba its good to be King! Seriously a wonderful story of betrayal, lust, murder, sin, love and punishment by the hand of God. But still God loved David that he forgave him of all these sins. That is the God I serve.

First off, I must deal with a pet peeve of mine.
The Bible does not contain any true stories, it does not contain any false stories, the Bible contains accounts of history, the present and the future.
Okay, pet peeve dealt with.
My favourite account is concerning the life of Joseph, despite all that happened to him, the Bible gives no record is of him sinning. It is his trust in God is what impresses me.
Gen 50:20 "As for you, you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good in order to bring about this present result, to preserve many people alive."
